The scalable open source cross-platform telephony platform by FreeSWITCH was designed to route and interconnect communication protocols like audio, video and text. Many applications can be developed using a wide range of free tools. Started in 2006 to focus on modularity, cross-platform support, scalability and stability, today it continues to accommodate various contributions. Technologies like Skype, SIP, H.323 and WebRTC are supported, enabling an interface with other open source PBX systems such as sipXecs, Call Weaver, Bayonne, YATE or Asterisk.
